Top Italian designer Giulio Cappellini has guided a subtle restyling of GLOCAL

Giulio Cappellini graduated in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano (Scientific-Technological University) in 1979 and subsequently joined his family’s business as the art director. He began collaborating with emerging designers such as Jasper Morrison, Tom Dixon, Ronan Bouroullec, Piero Lissoni and others. He maintains his role as art director to this day, overseeing the design of various products for the company. Giulio Cappellini also serves as the art director for Ceramica Flaminia, Icone Luce, Arredoluce and the Marangoni Institute, and designs products for several of these brands. He curates the Superdesign Show at Superstudiopiù during Milano Design Week and organises design exhibitions in different locations worldwide. Furthermore, he serves as a visiting professor at several design and architecture schools and universities. He received the “Compasso d’Oro” Career award in 2022, and he was elected an honorary member of Altagamma in 2023. He was invited to address the Italian Senate on the excellence of “Made in Italy” Design.
